Music time

Collect a percussion instrument or make one (see link below for ideas.) Click on the links and sing and play along. 1. Umbalayo. Tap the rhythm with a percussion instrument such as tapping sticks or a drum and sing along, copying all the sounds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxQOjRallEs 2. Jazz Pizzicato by Leroy Anderson. Read the notes and say the rhythm names - ta (crotchets), ti ti (quavers). Keep your rhythm steady and even. Listen a 2nd time if you like, and play along with your percussion instrument. Be careful to follow the yellow rhythm notes on the screen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAsimwk7DMs&list=PLbHSzbH9XvQlwmgi2aQIyk2HWSxE9hlM1&index=5 3. Angry birds rhythm reading. This time say the rhythm names, and add the sound for a rest: 'blow out the candle'. Second time through, tap the rhythm with your percussion instrument.
