Count the Falling Leaves🍁🍂

Grades: 1st Grade, Kindergarten
Subjects: Math, Science

Student Instructions

Make the leaves fall to the ground but as you do, count out loud. As you move them, you can swirl them around as if they are floating through the air down to the ground below. 1. Tap add to get started. Find your name and tap it. 2. Tap the label tool. Now you can move the leaves! But first, tap the red rec button. 3. After the 3-2-1 countdown, touch each leaf and move it to the ground, counting out loud as you do this. Tap pause when you’re finished counting. 4. After you’ve finished moving and counting leaves, you can use the drawing or label tool to write the total number of leaves that you made fall to the ground! 5. Tap the check twice to save to your journal.

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

The sample has not only the directions stated orally but a brief demonstration showing students how to do the activity. You can have students add other finishing touches if you’d like - drawing themselves in the scene or adding in foraging animals like squirrels. Note: The rec feature is only available in iOS.
