Hooray! It's your FLUENCY day!

Grades: 4th Grade
Subjects: English Language Arts

Student Instructions

1. Time yourself for one minute while reading this week's fluency sheet and record your WPM (words per minute) down on your graph in blue as your cold read. 2. Read the sheet at least 4 more times but not time your reading and do not mark on the paper. 3. Using the video record yourself. Do not post this, but watch yourself. Next, delete that recording and do it again. This time you are to focus on reading the punctuation and adding emotion to your reading. 4. After you have deleted your video, get ready for your final hot read. Set your timer for one minute, push record and read using your best fluency. 4. Post this activity and use a caption that reads "Listen to how well I can read!". 5. Mark your stopping point with a RED marker. Graph your growth on your fluency chart in red as your hot read. 6. Put your graph in the reading section of your binder. 7. Turn over your fluency sheet, answer the questions and turn it into the basket!
