I use activities like this as a math warm-up whole group activity. When looking at the photo, I tell my students to think like a mathematician. What do they notice? What math questions do they think of when they look at the photo? I usually ask one or two questions to get them started, then have volunteers ask their questions. The other pages are used as a quick review.
