The Olive Branch Petition - My reaction
I think its great that the members of the 2nd Continental Congress are trying to make peace with King George the III. The Intolerable Acts are making everyone in our village miserable. Asking the king to stop the destruction of the lives of his colonist is worth a try. I don’t have much hope however. I think each time we try to ask for fair treatment, he comes down even harder on us. He is far away in England. We are here in the thirteen colonies. We should have the freedom to build a life for ourselves and benefit from our own resources.
