Tell the story to a friend as you reveal the symbols! The Easter Story starts with Jesus' last days before dying on the cross for us. Beginning with The Last Supper on Holy Thursday, also called Maunday Thursday. #1 The cracker represents The Last Supper #2 The silver coins represent Judas betraying Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Judas showed the soldiers who Jesus was by kissing Him on the cheek. #3 The rope represents the soldiers arresting Jesus. #4 The purple cloth represents the soldiers mocking Jesus. By putting a purple royal robe on Jesus and telling him that he should have a purple robe like a king if he were a king. #5 The thorn represents the crown of thorns. #6 The piece of wood represents the cross that Jesus carried. #7 The nail represents the soldiers nailing Jesus to the cross. #8 The sponge represents the soldiers dipping a sponge in vinegar when Jesus said, "I thirst." John 19:28 #9 The sign: INRI represents the sign nailed to the top of the cross, meaning Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. #10 The spear represents the soldiers spearing Jesus in the ribs, and blood and water came out. The soldiers ensured Jesus was dead before taking him down off the cross. #11 The rock represents the boulder rolled in front of the tomb. #12 The egg is EMPTY!! Jesus rose from the dead!
