Instructions for Pupils
History of toys. Objects with human and animal forms that may have been toys have been found in deposits from ancient Sumer(ancient region, Iraq) dating to 2600 B.C. The earliest-known written historical mention of a toy comes from about 500 B.C in a Greek reference to yo-yos made from wood, metal, or painted terra-cotta.

This activity will have you diving into research and reminiscing.
Go to the instruction pages. There are videos and pages for you to examine. These will give you ideas to start your research.
🆕First Task:
Pg. 1 - Create a Tally Sheet and interview your class mates. With this DATA create a Bar graph that displays this information. 🔗https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Bar-Graphs
Pg. 2- Create a picture collage of some of your favourite toys from now and the past.
Pg. 3 - Create a timeline for some of your favourite toys. Include dates so you can organise them correctly.
🆕 Second Task:
Pg. 4 (you may need to duplicate the page if needed)- Research in detail. Create a multi media presentation on at least two different toys. Try to choose toys from different periods of time. Include pictures, video links, descriptions and factual information (where, who, what, why).
Pg. 5 - Create a essay that summarises you research into the history of Toys. When you are ready create a video with your oral presentation.
