Student Instructions

L.I: We are learning how punctuation improves reading fluency. S.C: I can identify capital letters and full stops in a text. I can read fluently using full stops. 1. Watch the instruction video attached to this activity. 2. Don't forget to do 15 minutes of Read to Self. Use the label tool to write the book that you are reading on the first page or you can upload a picture. 3. Read the Jack and the Beanstalk text on page 2. 4. Go back and count how many capital letters you can find and count how many full stops you can find. Use 1 colour to highlight all the capital letters using the highlighter tool and another colour to highlight all the full stops you can find using the highlighter tool. Record this in the table on the 3rd page. 4. Now go back and re read the text paying close attention to the full stops. Record yourself reading using the mic tool. * This task should take half an hour. Set the timer on your iPad for 30 minutes.
