AMI Day 6, March 31, 2020-Reading Lesson with Mrs. Kennemer

AMI DAY 6, Tuesday, March 31, 2020: Reading with Mrs. Kennemer- 1st Graders...YOU ROCKED COMPARING AND CONTRASTING LAST WEEK!!! This is such an important skill that is continuing for our 2nd Graders for the fourth quarter. Today, I would like for all of my 1st and 2nd graders to focus on COMPARING AND CONTRASTING two stories. They are going to be fiction stories today since I want you to focus on two of the characters. So, what I would like for you to do is: 1. I have assigned you three books to choose from on RAZ Kids. Decide on two of the books you would like to read. Once you have finished the stories, I would like for you to think about two of the characters. How were they different? How were they the same? 2. Using the Venn Diagram below, I am needing for you to write one character from each story on the top lines of the Venn Diagram. Write down the title of the book beside the character's name. 3. Please write at least five characteristics that describe each character on both sides of the Venn Diagram. 4. Looking at the describing words you wrote about the characters, are there any that are the same? If so, write those in the middle section.
