Candy Boxes - Multiplication Arrays

A candy company needs your help! Your job is to make boxes for chocolates that are either rectangles of squares. Which is the best shape for a candy box and why? You will need: Grid paper Scissors Lined paper for your letter 1. Find all the possible squares or rectangles for 6 candies (later do 12 candies, then 24 candies). For a challenge, do all three at once - 6, 12, and 24. 2. Cut out each possible square or rectangle box from the grid paper. 3. Glue the box on the paper in an organized way. 4. Label the rows and columns for each box. 5. Write a letter to the president of the candy company explaining what you learned about boxes for each quantity. Which is the best candy box and why? Post this on Seesaw!
