Subjects: English Language Arts, Writing

Student Instructions

Learning Intentions: 1. I can locate and use words that contain ‘number’ sounds to transform a sentence, paragraph or extended piece of writing. 2. I can write to entertain an audience of my peers. We are going to play a word game where we are going to find words that include number sounds, words like wonderful (one), today (two), before (four) etc. We then ‘add one’ to these number sounds to create a new language - an inflationary language (or language that gets bigger!). So wonderful becomes 'TWOderful', today becomes 'THREEday', before becomes beFIVE etc add and 1. Click on the link and listen to the recording of Victor Borg's inflationary language skit, 2. Review the list of words containing number sounds 3: Select your own words from the list or others that you can think of and see how many new sentences you can make up using inflationary language. 4. Use the mic to record yourself reading your sentences 5. Read and listen to your classmates sentences and offer feedback on the ones you find most entertaining. check when you are ready to submit
