Fact Family Houses

Grades: 4th Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade
Subjects: Math

Student Instructions

Multiplication and division fact families include multiplication and division facts that relate the same sets of three numbers. A fact triangle is a representation of a fact family. Under the dot, you'll find the greatest number in the set, which becomes the product. The dot is always found above the product on multiplication/division fact triangles. In the bottom corners of the triangle, you'll find the factors. A product is the total when two factors are multiplied together. Today, you'll be using the drawing tool to create fact family houses. At the top of each "house" is a triangle. You'll use that triangle to create a fact family house for 2s, 5s, and 10s facts you need to practice. If you already know your 2s, 5s, and 10s facts, try to challenge yourself by creating a house with 4s, 6s, 7s, and 8s facts. You'll find that I've completed the first house as an example.
