Teacher Notes (not visible to students)
This activity is to assist students who are beginning to write persuasive pieces. The aim, is for students to state their opinion and then give a solid reason to support it. We aim for students to give a convincing reason- that will sway the reader, not simple answers such as 'because I enjoy it. etc. PRIOR to the activity- I often support this activity with a pre-activity where we look at a statement and sort reasons under into 'convincing reasons' and 'not convincing reasons'. Youtube Credits- Teaching without Frills. This video is part 1 in a series of videos they have done. I recommend watching the remaining videos. Here is the link to copy and paste.
