This activity is to assist students who are beginning to write persuasive pieces. The aim, is for students to state their opinion and then give a solid reason to support it. We aim for students to give a convincing reason- that will sway the reader, not simple answers such as 'because I enjoy it. etc. PRIOR to the activity- I often support this activity with a pre-activity where we look at a statement and sort reasons under into 'convincing reasons' and 'not convincing reasons'. Youtube Credits- Teaching without Frills. This video is part 1 in a series of videos they have done. I recommend watching the remaining videos. Here is the link to copy and paste. Please watch it in Youtube to assist the original author. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD9arWXIddM
