Student Instructions

Reading is a wonderful opportunity to escape and immerse yourself in another world. What would make it even more exciting is by building yourself a Reading Fort to escape to. Pick a spot in your house or backyard where you can build a fort, using items from around your home, such as, pillows, sheets, blankets, ties, pegs (to hold blankets together). You can read, draw, play games or just enjoy hanging out together in your fort. 1. add Tap the add button to add to your journal. 2. photo Take a photo of your fort with you reading a book inside. 3. mic Tap the microphone to tell how you are using your fort. What books have you read. 4. check Tap the check to add to your journal. Why: Creative projects allow children to think critically, take risks, and collaborate. Building a fort together allows you to take a "vacation" without ever leaving the house and makes a fun, cozy spot for reading.
