Student Instructions

Sometimes our body feels out of control, when you are feeling and experiencing different emotions such as: 😠angry, 😢sad, 😞disappointed, or 😱scared. When your body is feeling these emotions, you need to stop, and take some 😮‍💨calming breaths to😌 calm down. Once you feel 😌calm, you will be able to make 🤔thoughtful choices and solve problems. This song is a great reminder of these steps to calm down. Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

We talked a lot about feelings and emotions in our classroom. After talking about the different emotions, we talked about the importance of using calm breathing to calm down and feel better. Some of the breaths that we use in class are bunny breaths: Make a bunny with your hand and have it run up the hill as you breath in, run down the hill as you exhale. Balloon Breath: put hands on head and inflate the balloon on your head as you inhale, deflate the balloon as you exhale. Star Breath: Smile, breath in, hold it and release The song is on youtube: Calm body and calm mind https://youtu.be/O3obMfpcU80
