Math Game: Pumpkin Patch to 100

Ask a grown up or a bigger kid to help you with the directions. The directions are also linked. Game directions: Players: 2 Materials: 2 dice, 120 chart, scratch paper or recording sheet for keeping score (go to to get the Record Sheet and the 120 chart) The Record Sheet is on page 1. The 120 chart is on page 2. How to Play: Roll two dice and create a 2-digit number. For example, if a 3 and 5 are rolled, you can make 35 or 53. Use the 120 chart to calculate the difference between the 2 digit number and 100. For example, if the number rolled is 53, count up by 10s and then add the 1s needed to get to 100. So in the example below, the difference is 47, and your score for the whole round would be 47. +10 +10 +10 +10 +7 __________________________ Number Line 53, 63, 73, 83, 93, 100 Scoring ; Play 5 rounds. For each round, calculate your score as the difference from 100. The player with the smallest difference on each round, wins that round. The player who wins the most rounds, wins the game! Plan your strategy carefully, combining the numbers you roll to create the smallest difference. Challenge: Add your differences from all the rounds and compare them with your partner.
