Teacher Notes (not visible to pupils)
This activity was originally designed for Year 8 pupils in the UK. I now use it with Year 5 pupils. It can be used alone and was successfully used during lockdown in 2020. There are other ear labelling activities in the Seesaw library: I would recommend using this activity before those which require pupils to recall the jobs of the parts. Alternatively, this could be used with pupils who struggle to remember the jobs. I wouldn't say this is for low ability pupils as the language used isn't overly easy to access. The video is a Kids Health Video: How the Ear Works which was found on Youtube. This link was last checked in June 2020. I am unaware of the original source of the ear diagram (I started using it many years ago, perhaps around 2009/2010). The words/descriptions of parts are all my own.
