Phonics -Week 3- Activity 2: Check for vowels in each syllable

Year Groups: 3rd Grade, 2nd Grade, 1st Grade
Subjects: English Language Arts

Instructions for Pupils

Teaching Point: I warn you that vowels can be the hardest part of bigger, longer, and more complex words. You need to listen carefully for the sounds, making sure there is at least one vowel in every syllable. We need to pay attention to the vowels. Could you find words with those vowel teams and break the words up in syllables? (you can check in different books) If you have time you can draw a warning sign and tell the other children to be aware of the vowels. 1. Tap add. 2. Look for words with the different vowel teams. 3. Write them down and break the words up in syllables. 4. Draw a warning sign about vowels (if you want) and take a photo 5. Use the caption to record your learning. 4. Tap the check to add to your journal.
