Student Instructions
Read this story at least two days in a row. By the third day, you should be very accurate and sound very fluent (reading smoothly, like talking).
Click on the picture of the title page to begin to read the book.
Read each page to your parent, babysitter, or an older sibling - if you get stuck on a word, try to make the sounds in the word - if you can’t work it out, your helper can tell you the word after you’ve had a try at it.
After you read each page, your helper can ask you the questions at the bottom of each page and talk about those with you.
When you have read the book two or three times, do the activity template (with a recording
) so I can hear how you sound as you read!
OPTIONAL: follow-up: Draw a design for an appliance that would be helpful to have at home (for example, I’d love a machine that wipes the bench for me after I make a sandwich or cook dinner). Your machine must be helpful in some way and you can be as creative as you like. Share the photo with me by pushing the new post button
and uploading
or
taking your photo. Add a
caption to explain what your machine can do.
