Using the information provided from the 9 weeks assessments. Use pencil and label to record progress. Common note mistakes are: • Misunderstanding organisms or populations that are competing for the same biotic or abiotic factors in an ecosystem • Misunderstanding adaptations that enable an organism or population to have an advantage over competitors for obtaining resources • Incorrectly predicting the changes in a population that result from competition • Misunderstanding adaptations that help an organism survive when changes in the ecosystem occur • Misunderstanding how long-term environmental changes occur over many years • Misunderstanding how adaptations can change the traits of future populations • Misunderstanding how the biodiversity of an ecosystem can be affected by short- and long-term changes • Misunderstanding how dependent human life is on the oceans and the variety of ways humans impact ocean systems
