Some possible learning objectives: To sing songs, make music and experiment with ways of changing them To select appropriate tools and adapts them where necessary To listen attentively in different situations To build a repertoire of songs and dances To sing to self and make up songs What could we do? - make a musical instrument from junk modelling/things in the kitchen e.g bowls, spoons etc - use your instrument to make up a tune - add some lyrics to your tune - give your song a name and write the name down - create a tune for your child to copy - listen to their favourite song and talk about why they enjoy it - listen to an alphabet song and join in (this is our favourite alphabet song to sing at school https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XC6wQQHo8uU&list=PLk1WVy76iEDTVF0aAI6NuMlSBK29zEs3v&index=11&t=0s ) - play a song with actions (e.g cha cha slide, hockey cokey) and join in with the words and actions - fill glasses with different amounts of water and play a tune on them - see if you can join in with the clapping rhythms on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anmcoVFcvc0 These are just ideas - there are so many other opportunities for learning, especially when you get the rest of the family involved.
