Today you will use what you learned from your reading activity, "Found Poetry," to create your own piece of Blackout Poetry. 1. Check out the examples of Blackout Poetry attached. Tap . 2. Choose a piece of text. Scan the text, looking for words that you could use to create a poem. 3. Circle the words you want to use. You can use individual words or sets of words, but you cannot change the order that the words appear on the page. 4. "Black out" or color over all of the other words on the page, leaving only the words that you want. When you are finished you should see your poem. 5. Feel free to do more than one! 6.
