SF Loves Learning Week 12, Session 5 (EXPLAIN) Essential Understandings: Events have causes that generate observable patterns. Different materials have different properties that are observable (i.e. color, texture, smell, & taste)and are suited to different purposes. When light is blocked by a material, the surface behind the material looks dark, and we call this a shadow. An object starts to move when another object exerts a force on it.
