What is the relationship between segments formed by the medians of a triangle? A) FIND THE BALANCE POINT OF A TRIANGLE 1. Draw your favorite triangle (mid-size) on a piece of cardboard. Then, cut it out. 2. Balance your triangle on the eraser end of a pencil. 3. Mark the point of the triangle where it balanced on the pencil B) CONSTRUCT THE MEDIANS OF A TRIANGLE 1. Use a ruler to find the midpoint of each side of the triangle. 2. Draw a segment, or median, from each midpoint to the vertex of the opposite angle. 3. Label your triangle ABC. Label the midpoints as D, E, and F. Label the point of concurrency of the medians as P. C) SHOW YOUR WORK & REFLECTION 1. Use the photo tool to take a photo of you balancing the triangle on your pencil. 2. Use mic tool to answer the following questions: - What do you notice about point P and the balancing point? - What is it called the point of concurrency of the medians of a triangle? Thanks!
