Student Instructions

Today you will be practicing your reading fluency. Remember, reading fluency is not only the speed/rate in which you read, but it also the expression and tone you bring to your reading. This is a great opportunity for you to practice your reading and share your growth with me and your family. You will be completing six (6) slides in this activity. All of the instructions are in each slide. Slide 2 includes my audio recording and highlighted vocabulary. Please read each slide's instructions carefully before beginning and before submitting. Remember to follow each pages directions closely, or I will ask you to redo it. 1. Follow the directions on each slide 2. On the first slide, you will record yourself without any practice! 3. On the second slide, you will listen to me read the fluency passage. Note my smooth reading, and pausing at commas and periods. I also highlighted some words that may be difficult to read. 4. On this third slide, practice reading the passage at least 4 times. Go back and listen to mine if you need help with some words. When you have practiced 4 times and feel confident in your reading go on to the next slide. 5. On slide 5, you will start the timer and do your best reading for one minute. This should be YOUR BEST! So, if you make a mistake, erase the recording and start over. You can do it! 6. On the last slide you will answer the text questions. You may use the label or audio tool to do this. 7. On slide 6 you will answer the comprehension question using the label or mic to respond. Be thoughtful in your responses! 7. When you have recorded your best one minute reading, check when done
