Using the information provided from the 9 weeks assessments. Use and
to record progress. Common note mistakes are:
• Confusing the terms rotation and revolution
• Not recognizing that the revolution of the Earth around the Sun results in the change of seasons
• Not understanding that the amount of daylight/darkness a location receives is directly related to the tilt
of the rotating Earth as it revolves around the Sun
• Confusing the names of the different lunar phases
• Misinterpreting models/diagrams/graphs based on where the Sun is placed
• Confusing the relative locations of the Moon, Sun, and Earth during a new moon and a full moon
• Confusing the waning and waxing phases of the Moon
