Student Instructions

Notice your body, feelings, and relax with this Heartful Body Scan. Body scans can help you sleep better, relieve anxiety and stress, and increase your self-compassion. This body scan is all about self-love and self-compassion. We all need to give our bodies a little love sometimes. Pay attention to how your body feels right now. You are welcome to draw, write, color, or anything else that comes to mind, and if nothing comes to mind that is okay too. Just notice how your body feels and send it a little love with this practice. 1. Get into a comfy space and click on the photo then go to the link and listen to this meditation. 2. After listening, notice how your body feels compared to how it felt before the meditation. 3. When ready, click add to start your Mindful Journal pages! 4. When drawing your body, remember to use any or all of the tools available to you, including the drawing, mic, video, or label tools! 5. After you're done drawing, go to the second page and use the tools to complete your mindful journal questions. 6. When you've completed both pages of your Mindful Journal, click check to submit!

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

A body scan is moving your awareness throughout the entire body noticing what sensations are present. The benefits of body scans are improved sleep, anxiety and stress relief, greater self-awareness, increased self-compassion, reduced pain, and even reduced cravings. This body scan promotes self-love, and positive affirmations for kids to learn how to say nice things to themselves and their bodies.
