Student Instructions
This activity will help you find the main idea of the story you just read. Remember, the main idea is the most important thing that happened in the story. 1. First, you will answer the following questions about the story: who, what, when, where, and why. You can type or record your answers. 2. Then, you will think of a ten-word sentence using the "what", "when", "where", and "why" answers. You must also use the "who" answer (it won't count as one of your ten words). You can type or record your answers. 3. Select the button to begin the activity. 4. Don't forget to select the button when you have finished.
This is a simple UDL (Universal Design for Learning) activity to help students find the main idea of a narrative story. It can be completed on their own, or they can work with a partner. All instructions are accessible, and students can type or record (voice) their answers.
