Split Strategy subtraction

Look at the example number sentence 49-26 Do you see that using the Split Strategy for subtraction you: First of all write how many tens there are in each number and take the lowest number of tens away from the highest number of tens to find how many tens are left. Next write how many ones there are in each number and take the lowest number of ones away from the highest number of ones to find the total number number of ones left. After that ADD these two totals together- that is the total of tens left AND the total of ones left. Finally you write this total in the final line as it is your answer. Now it's your turn. 1. Click on+ADD 2. Tick your name 3. Solve each subtraction problem using the Split Strategy- Don't forget you ADD the total tens left with the total ones left. Use the T type or drawing tools to record your working out. 4. Press the microphone to record your voice so you can explain to me how you worked out one of the problems. 5. Press tick 6. Have fun!
