Using Kind Words Social Story

Grades: 2nd Grade, 1st Grade
Subjects: Special Education, Character Building

Student Instructions

1. Please read the story I have provided. You can read this silently, or out-loud, to an adult, to your pet, or to your favorite stuffed animal. 2. Sometimes when it is hard for us to use kind words, we need to stop and use our coping skills. Coloring can be a coping skill because it calms our thoughts and our breathing before we say something inappropriate. 3. At the end of the story are cards with an action them, you can practice saying if those actions are good manners or bad manners with someone in your house.
