Student Instructions

1. Tap the add button. 2. Choose the drawing tool and choose a color. 3. Each box equals one beat. Listen to the teacher play the rhythm. 4. If you hear one sound on the beat, draw a line in the box; if you hear two sounds on the beat, draw two dots in the box. 5. After you've listened to all four rhythms, tap the check button twice.

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

Teachers, create 4 rhythms using a combination of quarter notes and eighth notes (you may want to write them down for reference later). Using a hand drum or other readily available instrument, play each rhythm at least twice, allowing time for your students to dictate the rhythm they hear using a horizontal line to symbolize a quarter note and two dots to symbolize a pair of eighth notes.
