Body Mass Index

BODY MASS INDEX (BMI) is the relationship of an individual's weight and height. Its purpose is used as a way to clarify sedentary (physically inactive) individuals and active individuals. 1. Tap the Add button. 2. Click the student template: a. using the tool and place a dot on the height number line (your height) b. using the tool and place a dot on the weight number line (your weight) c. using the tool, connect the dots, by drawing a STRAIGHT line. The line you drew, passes through the BMI number line. Place a dot on the BMI number line. That is your BMI 5. The Using the tool, tell me what your BMI is? What do the numbers mean? UNDERWEIGHT: less than 18.5 NORMAL: 18.5-2 OVERWEIGHT: 25-30 OBESE: more than 30 PROBLEMS WITH using BMI! Numbers can be inaccurate it an individual is growing and/or muscular IF AN INDIVIDUAL IS OVERWEIGHT OR OBESE: Follow the www.myplate.org and 50 minutes of exercise a day.
