On the holiday of שמיני עצרת/Shemini Atzeret, which follows סוכות/Sukkot, we make a special blessing for גשם/rain. We also begin to pray for גשם in our daily תפילה. 1. Tap 2. We pray for "גשם בעתו– rain at the right time." Why is it important to have the right amount of rain during the right season? How can rain possibly be damaging?
