Science Lesson 2: Future Motion

Grades: 3rd Grade
Subjects: Science

Student Instructions

Hello Scientists! You will get a chance to conduct an experiment or investigation to explore Predictions of Future Motions. Do these steps: 1. Question: Ask yourself this question (don't answer yet, just predict and think): -What objects have a predictable pattern of future motion? 2. Study: Study the image in this activity and listen to the voice recording to learn about Predictable Patterns of Future Motion 3. Plan: Plan an activity to show Predictable Patterns of Future Motion and use these examples for help: -If you are able, go to the park with an adult or find a swing and explain how someone on a swing can show a force in motion on a swing will follow the same motion pattern -Swing your arm back and forth to show a force in motion like your arm will follow the same motion pattern -Put a ball in a bowl and if you rock it back and forth the ball will follow the same motion pattern 4. Conduct and Share the Results of the Experiment: You can do the experiment and share what you learned with the class by telling us about it during our morning meeting or other whole class time, taking a photo, or recording a video
