Student Instructions

First in the following clip three young Christians explain the Holy Communion, an important ritual for Christians involving bread and wine. We also hear from two Catholic children who explain what it is like to take Communion for the first time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQq9WDliZGc. Then watch the clip again and complete the Eucharist sheet attached Remembering the Easter story is a great way to relate the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist and when Jesus gave it to us. The story of the Last Supper on Holy Thursday is particularly relevant as it is when Jesus instituted the sacrament. If you would like to watch the story of the Last Supper; clip on the following clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SigoALSS1R8 Next with an adult discuss what you already know about receiving the Sacrament of the Eucharist and talk about your experiences at Mass and pick out the details of why Mass proceeds as it does. Extension complete the art activity inspired by the symbols of Holy Communion (see the activity attached)You can complete this creative task in lots of different ways; you can use crayons/ glitter/paint/paper/sequins/pens/paper/ chalk Do remember to include the special words: Do this in memory of me Finally post a picture of your work and/or use the microphone tool to summarise Holy Communion If you complete the art activity find a special place to hang your work and upload a picture to your journal
