Writer's Workshop #7 - Craft Moves and Bringing your Stories to Life

Grades: 1st Grade
Subjects: Writing

Student Instructions

Hello Writers! Once you've got a good couple of books written out, it's good to double check that you've added craft moves and other tools writers use to bring their stories to life. Let's think back on our last three units of study for writing. We learned all about craft moves like bold words, "sparkle" words, changing the size or colors of texts, ellipsis (dot dot dot...) and more! We also learn to add speech bubbles, "unfreeze" our characters, tell the story in small steps, bring the inside out (make people feel and think). Read through the books you've already written. Check to see if you've added any of these craft moves. If not, go back and add more and bring your stories to life! When you're done writing, use the camera or video tool on Seesaw to share your story (or stories) with us! You can take pictures and use the microphone or you can take a video of you reading your book(s).
