Paper Airplane Investigation (Activity 3)

Grades: 3rd Grade, 5th Grade, 4th Grade

Student Instructions

The purpose of this activity is to investigate how different types of paper affect how far a paper airplane will fly. In order for this to be a fair investigation, use the same airplane design. 1. Gather different types of paper (computer, construction paper, cardstock, etc). 2. Build the same paper airplane out of each paper. Take a photo. 3. Create a data table to record the results. You will test each type of paper three times. 4. Test each airplane using the same thrust. 5. Measure the results of each paper airplane. Record the distance each airplane travels. Take photos. 6. Click add and bring in the photos. 7. mic a summary of this activity.
