Before reading about birds, fill out the "K" part of the KWL chart, telling what you already know about birds. Then, write a question of what you are still wondering about in the "W" part of the chart. Next, read the story about birds in Epic! called, "Birds From Head to Tail." Finally, come back and fill in what you learned about birds in the "L" part of the chart.
