The TUBA is the lowest member of the BRASS Family. It plays in the key of C and reads BASS Clef. The TUBA can have 3 or 4 valves. All Brass use a mouthpiece which is also made of brass and SILVER plated. During cold weather outside playing, brass players may use a plastic mouthpiece. All Brass instruments are made of brass and covered in lacquer. They can be covered in a golden or silver lacquer. Most Euphoniums are covered in a silver lacquer.
