What can you infer?

Readers make inferences while they are reading. Sometimes the author leaves out important information. We have to figure out what is going on in the text by using the clues that the author has left for us. Readers use these clues and what we already know (schema) to figure out the missing pieces. Read the short story card. Then TYPE and record your thinking. EXPLAIN why you think you are correct. The examples will show you a sample sentence starter.
