1. Look at each word. The words have already been divided into syllables for you. 2. Find the vowels in each word. Use the tool to drag a "v" under each vowel. 3. Next find the consonant(s) between the vowel. Use the tool to drag a "c" under each consonant(s) that is between the vowels. 5. Last use the tool to draw a breve (little u) over the vowel to show it makes the short sound if it is an closed syllable and draw a macron (line) over the vowel if it makes the long sound if it is a open syllable. 6.
