Pages 1 to 9:
1st time reading: Read the Pictures - THINK - what do the pictures tell me?
2nd time reading: Decode the words (if you get stuck - sound out the beginning sound and work through the whole word segment and blending)
3rd time reading: Now that you know the words, practice reading for meaning and fluency. Ask: Who is the main character, what happened at the beginning, the middle, the end?
4th time reading: Use the 
and record yourself reading the story and the page that has My Word List.
