Student Instructions

Readers can break down their tricky words in chunks to read them more easily and to help them understand the word. First listen to the link below to learn about prefixes, suffixes, and root words. 1. Tap the add sign to begin your activity. 2. Go on the first page of the template below to see an example of how we can break apart some tricky words into prefix, suffix, and the root word . 3. Go to the second page to find a list of tricky words that you can break apart! 4. Then on the third page use the label tool to type a word from page 2 onto the template. Break it apart like your example on page 1. 5. Type the prefix on one leaf, the suffix on the other leaf, and the root word next to the roots. 6. Repeat the process for the other flower on the page. 7. Then do the same thing for the other pages until you have taken apart two words on each page! 8. Tap the check to upload to your Seesaw journal. Optional Challenge! Use caption and type a sentence for each word you typed on the flowers.
