What's Hiding Inside Fruit and Vegetables? A Science Exploration

First, click the to your left to watch the video on Seeds and the Life Cycles of Plants: Then, you will look inside your own fruits or vegetables to see what seeds are hiding inside. Begin by clicking to open the template. Materials: 2 clean pieces of fruit or vegetables, regular or plastic knife and a magnifying glass if you have one (optional). 1. Look at your fruit or vegetable and make a prediction about how many seeds you think will be inside. 2. On a clean and flat surface (table), use a knife to cut your fruit or vegetable in half. 3. Use your fingers or knife to help you take out all of the seeds inside. 4. Count all your seeds. 5. Observe and look closely at the size, color, shape and texture. Texture = How does the seed feel when you touch it? 6. Repeat the steps with your second piece of fruit or vegetable. 7. Click to write what you discovered. Be sure to add a or drawing of your seeds.
