Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

In a live setting, the teacher shows various videos where parent responds to offspring based on their needs. In a virtual setting, you may try spanning out the lesson and showing a different video for each day of the week. Students may respond to vocabulary words using AVID 3-column notes OR use paper or notebooks divided into three columns. Students observe and discuss what is happening. Make claims based on the evidence. Use the following sentence frame “ I claim that the parent animal is________ because it is _______.” This can be done orally at first and then as a class or individually.
