This activity is based on Erste Spiel am Xylophone pg. 9 #12. On day 1 we explored creating different rhythm patterns with sodas. Then I narrowed it to the rhythm that matched the Erste Spiel. We learned the melody on Orff instruments. Day 2 students reviewed different soda patterns than in partner groups created their own rhythm using soda manipulatives. Practiced their rhythm and took picture of their complete aba pattern. Day 3-4 they completed their melody- labeled in Seesaw and recorded their final product. Could also add a reflection piece on day 4-5 with other groups listening to their composition.
