Press play to listen to directions and hear a poem. Listen as I read the poem, A Perfect Cup of Cocoa. As you listen to the poem, listen for words that tell you how the perfect cup of cocoa looks, sounds, smells, tastes, or feels. These special words that describe the hot cocoa are called adjectives. Authors use words like these to help us visualize, or make a picture in our mind, of what they are describing. Then, complete the charts to write and draw some things that you know that taste or smell sour, sweet, spicy, and fruity, and feel sticky, dry, fuzzy and prickly. You should have at least one item in each box on the charts.
