Binary Bracelets!

Grades: 3rd Grade, 2nd Grade, 1st Grade
Subjects: Math, Computer Science, STEAM

Student Instructions

Today we learned about Binary Code. Binary code is a way of representing information using only two options. We created a bracelet using two options (2 bead colors) to create the first letter our names. Coding rocks! 1. Make a binary bracelet to represent the first letter in your name. 2. Take a picture of your bracelet and tell what letter your bracelet represents. 3. Tell your audience what "BINARY" means. Bonus: Draw on your photo to show 1's and 0's or just to write some additional details! Credit: code.org (unplugged activities!)
