The FACE chant is spoken in a quarter, quarter, quarter, quarter pattern while students touch the appropriate space on their hand staff. When they get to the "space" word, students place both arms horizontally so that their heads are in between their arms. This reminds them that the note sits in a space (or in this case, in between their arms).
