Hello Grade 1! In class, we have created a storm soundscapes in small groups, as a whole class, using instruments, and using only our bodies and voices. Today you will create your own storm soundscape. You can use your body, your voice, musical instruments, or other items you have in your home. 1. Gather the items you will use to create your soundscape. (You can also just use body percussion.) 2. Practice making the sounds of a storm. (Don't forget about dynamics. Does it start strong or soft? Does the volume change during the storm? How?) 3. If you like, you can get other people at home involved too! Maybe your Dad or your sister wants to join! 4. Write or draw your basic plan in your response to this activity. (See example) 5. Perform and record your soundscape and share in your response. I look forward to hearing your creations!
